locking gas caps are OEM quality both in construction and materials as well as deterrent to fuel theft and vandalism. A gas/fuel cap performs three very important functions; safety of the vehicle's occupants, fuel economy and reduce emissions. Safety: Without a fuel cap, gasoline vapors will be present around your car at all times. Those vapors can be ignited by a random spark or flame and are very dangerous if you are involved in an accident or rollover. Fuel Economy: According to Sun Oil Company research, a vehicle with a missing or inoperative fuel cap will allow 1 pounds (22 gallons) of gasoline to evaporate over the period of one year. Emissions: Gasoline vapors emit hydrocarbons which dissolve the earth's ozone layer and cause smog.

The locking mechanism/spring on mine rusted out in 4 months. I would like to note that my truck was off the road for 2 months which possibly accelerated the rusting. It is possible that with continual use of the truck the locking mechanism/spring will be splashed with diesel and therefore would slow down the rusting. The cap itself is sturdy and is still functioning, but the lock is now not fully functional for my purposes. In my opinion, they need to use a more rust resistant metal for the locking mechanism. I think it would be a great product if that was the case.

Tried out this Fuel Cap on my 2006 International 4300. It leaks bad enough to where my gas mileage sucks. I went back to my old cap. Don't buy this products.

Design flaw in lock. Although it is all functioning, the lock spring is so weak that I am able to easily force the cap off when in locked position. I mean, comes right off with no issue. This cap is a 'dummy lock'. It will not actually keep your fuel safe. Sending back for refund.

Bought two, one for an Isuzu box truck and the other for a 24-foot International. Both fit 2" standard like a glove. Came with two keys, very easy to install, great price & Prime shipping. Highly recommended!

This item is exactly what it appears to be. I used it on my diesel fuel tank on my international box truck. It is a standard 2" pipe thread fitting and the inside locks to the side. I also want one for my Ford box truck but it uses gasoline and even though it has a standard 2" pipe thread on the outside, the small opening for a gas nozzle won't allow the cap to screw on.

I recommend this to anyone looking for a simple locking fuel cap, it appears very similar to the stock one on many trucks except it has the mechanism for a key to lock it.

Can be difficult to unlock but now we are not loosing fuel

Keys are thin metal and bend/break relatively easily. Locking mechanism can be overcome by simply twisting cap hard enough. Just ok.
